Vanity Fair is celebrating its 100th year; kinda. With its first issue in 1913, it was named Dress & Vanity Fair. Twenty years later it took a hiatus and it was re-introduced in 1983 by S.I. Newhouse Jr., the chairman of Condé Nast. So in reality, Vanity Fair is only 30 years old. But the decision to announce the celebration of Vanity Fair's centennial issue was genius. The issue celebrates iconic Oscar parties for the past 100 years and is filled with archive contents of memorable stories and photography that go back to 1918. Embracing the magazine cover is none other than Kate Upton. She is wearing a Champagne One Piece ensemble, a portrayal of one of our biggest icons, Marilyn Monroe.
In addition, to the centennial issue, a coffee-table book will also be released in October called, "Vanity Fair: 100 Years."
