For Sandra Davila, better known as Sandra D., fashion always came naturally. As a teenager, she tells us, she would go through her closet and re-invent outdated clothes. When friends planned a night out, they always called her to see what she’d wear, so they could follow suit. So it's not surprising that when it was time to choose a career, Sandra D.
followed the fashion path. In 2008 she opened her own business, Sandra D. Designs, along with the division Sandra D. Does Fashion.
Sandra D. will be sharing her fashion insights as a regular contributor to
our Expert Voices blogs. We're excited to have her on board!
"Style is an art, a science and a necessity in our everyday lives," says
Sandra D., who attended the International Academy of Design and Technology and brings 25 years’ experience in retail and sales from the International Academy of Design and Technology.
Sandra D.'s service include personal shopping; special event styling;
and "closet audits," in which she goes through your closet and helps you figure out what to keep and what to donate to charity. She also offers our personal favorite: closet shopping. She will create new looks from what's already in your closet, help you take an old garment and turn it into a new stylish trend.
The fashion stylist stays connected to the latest trends by checking out
boutiques while traveling, reading fashion publications, and attending fashion shows. She’s active in networking, and recently became branch president of The Sophisticates women’s organization in Carrollwood/S. Tampa.
Sandra D.’s most recent work as an editorial stylist can be seen on her
portfolio page on her website, SandraDDoesFashion.com.
In addition, Sandra D. is the Visual Specialist at the new JCP.
